Aims and objectives of the action plan

(1) To explain the disruptive classroom and outside classroom behaviour of primary school students;

(2) To identify the various forms of indiscipline at school;

(3) To understand the extent to which indiscipline is affecting the school;

(4) To explore the mechanisms which exist at school to tackle indiscipline.

I also found that the National Economic and Social Council issued a report on the topic recently in November 2012. That may help us to draft our recommendations after we have identified the most important cases of indiscipline :)

Also, please see this interesting depiction of discipline and indiscipline below:

Don't you think that we need to include this in our action plan? I think it brilliantly conveys the effects of discipline and indiscipline.

  1. Personally, I completely agree with the approach you suggest we take in the action plan. But I guess this was implicit- the fifth and final step of the plan should be laying down a list of recommendations, based on our analysis and over and above the existing mechanisms to tackle discipline.
    Also, I believe the depiction of the effects of discipline that you came up with, is an excellent presentation of facts. It is a perfect way specially to have children be interested and focus on the importance of discipline.

  2. "Hi Vanida, this is Jonathan.
    Congrats for this brilliant idea of submitting an action plan to your school! :)
    Since I am also a teacher, I am very concerned with the issue of indiscipline and it is my duty to also help you in this laudable task. So, some of the cases of indiscipline that occur at my school include bullying, truancy, using foul languages, consuming alcohol and drugs, assaults on teachers and damaging school property.
    I would add that there is not one single cause to explain indiscipline and violence among students. While parents may be blaming the school authorities for lack of control over the students, the parents themselves may to a certain extent also be related to the causes. Indiscipline and violence at schools constitute a multi-faceted problem with several factors at play.
    Maybe you could also think about involving the children's parents when drafting the action plan? I look forward to seeing more of your posts! Keep up the good job!"
